Description and Infrastructure of the Area

Kestel is located between the districts of Tosmur and Mahmutlar. The village retains a certain provincialism and natural charm. From here you can get to the center of Alanya by shuttle bus - dolmus.

The coast is accessible to all kinds of vacationers - a small number of hotels cover the shore. The beach is less rocky than in Mahmutlar and there are fewer cafes compared to other areas. 

Trading in Kestel focuses on small shops, pharmacies, restaurants and cafes, and the larger shops such as Migros and Bim. Every week there is a farmers' market where fresh produce can be purchased.  

There is a good range of private and government schools in the area with good reputations. Not far from Kestel is a purpose-built government hospital that has excellent reviews. There are also a few good private hospitals in the Alanya region.   

The mandarin, banana and orange orchards overlook the sea coast. Most residential complexes and hotels are separated from the sea by a highway and promenade, which is equipped with playgrounds, recreational gazebos and fountains. 

There are many attractions in the area including the magnificent Dim Cave with stalactites and stalagmites. It is located 10 km from Kestel. The road to it passes through the picturesque Taurus Mountains and the gorge of the Dim mountain river , which separates the districts of Kestel and Tosmur. The Alanya region is home to many areas of antiquity such as Syedra and of course the Castle. If archaeology isn't your interest, then there are many water sports stations dotted along the coastline. For those of you who prefer a different kind of thrill seeking activity, then there are lots of companies offering gorge walking, hiking and water canyoning in the glorious Taurus mountains.
